The Petschnighof is newly built and brings sustainable vacation enjoyment for the whole family.
We made the best of the difficult period in 2020/2021. We have decided to offer our valued guests even more vacation experiences. With full enthusiasm we dedicate ourselves to the new construction of our resort and then we will be the first energy neutral family hotel – we will produce all our energy on site. As part of the quality improvement, we will be a 4*s establishment in the future and will be rated 5 out of 5 crowns by Familotel.
After a 12-month construction period, the new Petschnighof is scheduled to open in April 2022.
We are happy to accept reservations for this already now.
The Petschnighof family can hardly wait to welcome you again as guests in beautiful Carinthia next year.

The family resort Petschnighof relies on sustainability for its energy supply.
We are 100% self-sufficient and thus make a valuable contribution to the protection of our environment.
Your family vacation destination Petschnighof 4*s welcomes you from 2022 with many innovations, even more hotel comfort and above all with convincing sustainability. We love nature and need it, so we want to preserve and protect it. For us, it is not just a backdrop, but a living space.
Against this background, our energy concept for the supply of our resort was developed, which makes the Petschnighof the first energy self-sufficient family hotel. Important components of energy independence are own water sources, wood for heating from the own forest and a photovoltaic system in the sunniest place in Austria.
The entire Petschnighof is supplied with a wood chip heating system. The required wood comes 100% from our own forest stand, the maximum transport distance is 5 km.
The Petschnighof is located in the sunniest place in Austria – so it is obvious that we use the power of the sun and conserve other resources for it. Our new photovoltaic system has an output of 90 KW and in this way covers the majority of our electricity consumption.
The entire Petschnighof is supplied with the finest spring water from 5 natural mountain springs. The fresh mountain water contains important minerals and tastes simply excellent. Even our bathing pond is always fed with fresh water of drinking quality from our own spring.
The majority of the food used at Petschnighof comes from our own production and from regional farmers. In this way, we guarantee not only the highest quality, but also sustainability, animal welfare and short transport routes.
We offer our guests the possibility of aCO2-neutral journey by planting trees. For a contribution of 15 € we plant a tree (free choice of the desired tree species) in the Petschnighof guest forest. You can visit this tree during your family vacation and additionally mark it with a wooden sign engraved by the children themselves (cost contribution 15 €). Please let us know if you are interested when you make your reservation.
