In the midst of the beautiful Carinthian natural scenery you will learn during your vacation how we manage our traditional organic farm – without glamor, but thoroughly authentic. At the foot of the Saualm live with us at the farm on more than 230,000 square meters many animals to touch. The particularly curious among you may also watch or help with the work in the stable. On a farm vacation, no two days are the same. Your children have all the freedom on the extensive grounds around our organic farm and become little explorers again.
Many of our animal farm inhabitants like to be petted or fed, especially our rabbits, Icelandic ponies and our tomcat Fritzi.
For the more adventurous, farm boss Gerwald will gladly take you for a tractor ride.

Your relaxed vacation with the whole family plus dog is very close to our hearts. With us, the closeness between humans and animals is not only commonplace, but even desired.
Your four-legged friend is, of course, a part of your family, so he should be able to be with you and the children even on vacation. This is not possible without restrictions for all destinations. But the Petschnighof in Carinthia is well prepared for the visit of your four-legged friend. Your faithful companion enjoys plenty of exercise around our organic farm.
For joint forays you will find beautiful walking and hiking trails. You want to explore the mountain landscapes in Austria together with your dog?
Our dog-friendly family hotel makes it playfully possible. Our 5 quaint natural wood chalets are generously fenced and offer your four-legged friend up to 1,550 square feet of outdoor space. Our own dog bathing pond offers the possibility for cooling off on warm days.

Fishing in Carinthia is fun for the whole family. Your children will learn perseverance and patience, you yourself will find relaxation and peace, while the anticipation of the big catch grows.
In our own fish pond right next to the family hotel, the trout and char are particularly happy to bite. Farm boss Gerwald Kitz drives everyone to the pond with the tractor and shows the most important tricks around fishing: Which bait is the best? How do I professionally release my catch from the hook?
The absolute highlight of fishing at Petschnighof is to eat the fish you caught yourself at dinner. Our chef will take care of the professional and tasty preparation.
For professionals, the Völkermarkt Reservoir is a nearby and delightful fishing paradise.
It is one of the most fish-rich waters in Carinthia and also impresses with its fantastic scenic location. These species of fish are there:
bream, roach, barbel, aitel, pike, zander, catfish, trout
Another special feature for our fishing friends is fly fishing in the nearby Vellach River. Over a length of 27 km, rushing stairs and sections with pools and scours provide the necessary variety.
